Quick answer
Salazar Roadside Assistance provides 24/7 mobile jump start service throughout DFW. We arrive with commercial jump packs, get your engine running, then test the battery and alternator before we leave. Typical arrival is about 30 minutes. Call (469) 606-2575.
Why cars die in DFW
Texas heat is harder on batteries than cold is. A hundred-degree summer cooks the electrolyte and shortens battery life to roughly three years in this climate, which is why the first cool morning of the year strands so many drivers.
The other half of our calls are simple: interior lights left on in an airport garage, a trunk left ajar overnight, or a short commute that never fully recharges the battery.
We do not just jump and leave
A jump that gets you moving but leaves you stranded again in an hour is not a fix. Every jump start includes a load test on the battery and a check of the alternator's charging output.
- Commercial jump packs, not consumer cables
- Reverse-polarity protected connections
- Battery load test after start
- Alternator charging-output check
- Terminal cleaning when corrosion is the culprit
- Same-visit battery replacement if needed

Answers
Jump Start Service questions, answered
Can you jump start a car with a completely dead battery?
In most cases yes. Our commercial jump packs deliver far more cranking amps than consumer cables, so batteries that will not respond to a neighbor's jumper cables often still start. A battery with an internal short or a frozen cell will not, and we will tell you that on site.
Do I need a new battery after a jump start?
Not always. If you left lights or a door ajar, the battery is probably fine once it recharges. If the battery is more than three years old or fails our load test, replacement is the honest answer — we carry batteries and can install one during the same visit.
Can you jump start a car with a bad alternator?
We can get it running, but it will die again once the pack is disconnected because the alternator is not recharging the system. We test the charging output before we leave so you know whether to drive straight to a shop or arrange a tow.
How much is a jump start service?
Jump starts are flat-rate at $60-$75 plus the $19 dispatch fee, quoted before we roll. The price is identical overnight, on weekends and on holidays — there is no after-hours premium.
Is a jump start safe for modern vehicles?
Yes, when it is done correctly. We use regulated jump packs with reverse-polarity protection and follow the manufacturer's designated jump points, which protects the sensitive electronics in newer vehicles.
Is there a jump start service near me right now?
Yes — jump starts are one of our fastest calls and technicians are staged across DFW and Austin around the clock. Most jump start customers are back on the road 15 to 30 minutes after they hang up, and we test the charging system before we leave so you are not calling again from the next parking lot.
Do you charge more for a jump start at night?
No. A 2am jump start in a hotel lot is the same $60-$75 as a midday jump start at the office, with the same $19 dispatch fee. Salazar does not use surge pricing, holiday multipliers or emergency rates.
Can you jump start a truck, van or diesel?
Yes. Our commercial-grade packs handle passenger cars, SUVs, half-ton and heavy-duty trucks, cargo vans and most diesels. Tell dispatch what you are driving so the right pack comes out on the first trip.
