Quick answer
Salazar Roadside Assistance repairs punctured tires at your location anywhere in DFW. Tread punctures up to about a quarter inch can be plugged and patched from the inside and driven on normally. Sidewall and shoulder damage cannot be repaired safely and we will tell you so on arrival.
What can and cannot be repaired
Industry practice is clear: punctures in the tread area, no larger than about 1/4 inch, in a tire with adequate remaining tread, can be repaired. Punctures in the sidewall or the shoulder cannot — the flexing there will work any repair loose.
We inspect before we quote. If the tire is not safely repairable we say so rather than sending you off on a patch that will fail on I-635.
Why a plug-and-patch beats a string plug
A string plug pushed in from outside is a temporary fix. A combination repair unit is installed from inside the tire, sealing the injury and the inner liner together — that is a permanent repair the tire industry recognises.
- Tire dismounted and inspected inside
- Injury reamed and cleaned
- Combination plug-patch installed from inside
- Bead reseated and balanced pressure set
- TPMS sensor checked before remount
- Old repair inspected if the tire has been fixed before
How the call works
- 1Call and tell us the vehicle, the tire position and what you can see stuck in it.
- 2We quote the repair and dispatch the nearest technician.
- 3The tire is inspected on arrival and we confirm it can be safely repaired.
- 4The puncture is repaired from inside, pressure is set to the door placard, and you drive away.

Answers
Tire Repair questions, answered
How long does a mobile tire repair take?
Usually about twenty minutes on site once the technician arrives.
Can you repair a sidewall puncture?
No. Sidewall and shoulder damage cannot be repaired safely at any shop. In that case the honest options are a spare, a replacement tire or a tow.
Is a repaired tire safe at highway speed?
A correctly installed internal plug-patch in the tread area is a permanent repair and safe at normal highway speeds.
Can you repair run-flat tires?
Sometimes. It depends on the manufacturer and whether the tire was driven on while deflated. We inspect and tell you honestly.
How much does mobile tire repair cost?
Plug and patch repairs are $35-$45, plus the flat $19 dispatch fee. If the tire cannot be repaired safely, mounting your spare is $75 in labor and a delivered replacement tire runs $129-$189 installed. No after-hours premium.
Do you repair tires overnight?
Yes, 24/7 at the same flat rate. Most tire shops close by 9pm, so overnight punctures are a big share of our volume — we come to the driveway, garage or shoulder and finish in about twenty minutes.
