Quick answer

Salazar Roadside Assistance handles overnight flats anywhere in Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and Austin. We mount your spare, repair a tread puncture or deliver a replacement tire between midnight and dawn at the same flat rate as a midday call — tire labor from $75, repairs $35-$45, a new tire $129-$189 installed, plus the $19 flat dispatch fee.

Stay safe first, then call

A night flat on a DFW freeway is a different risk than the same flat at noon. Get the vehicle as far right as you can, past the white line and onto the widest part of the shoulder. Leave the hazards on. If you are on I-35, I-635, the Bush Turnpike or any narrow inside shoulder, get out on the passenger side and stand behind the barrier, not next to the car.

Then call. The dispatcher will confirm whether your position is workable or whether we need to relocate the vehicle before touching a wheel.

  • Hazards on before you slow down, not after you stop
  • Exit on the passenger side away from traffic
  • Stand behind a barrier or well up the embankment
  • Do not attempt a jack change on a narrow inside shoulder
  • Note the nearest mile marker or exit number for dispatch

What we can do after dark

The trucks carry lighting, jacks rated for full-size trucks and SUVs, torque tools, plug-patch kits and an air supply. If your spare is good we mount it. If the tread puncture is repairable we fix it properly rather than sending you off on a string plug. If the tire is destroyed and you have no spare, we bring a replacement in most common passenger and light-truck sizes.

Why night calls are not upcharged

Overnight work is a normal part of our week, not an exception we bill for. The dispatch fee and the service rate are published and identical at every hour. If someone quotes you an after-hours premium, that is their staffing problem being passed to you.

How the call works

  1. 1Get to the widest shoulder you can reach, hazards on, and exit away from traffic.
  2. 2Call with your highway, direction of travel and nearest exit or mile marker.
  3. 3You get the flat rate and an arrival window before dispatch.
  4. 4The technician works the tire under lights and you drive off the shoulder.

Answers

Flat Tire at Night questions, answered

Do you really run all night in DFW?

Yes, 365 nights a year. Overnight calls are a large share of our volume because shops close at 6 or 9 p.m. and freeway debris does not.

Is it more expensive at 2 a.m.?

No. Tire labor starts at $75, tread repairs are $35-$45 and the $19 flat dispatch fee applies, at every hour of the day.

Should I drive on the flat to the next exit?

Only if staying put is genuinely dangerous. Driving on a deflated tire destroys the sidewall and often the wheel, turning a repair into a tire plus a rim. If you must move, keep it under 20 mph and take the first exit.

What if I do not have a spare?

Give the dispatcher the size off the sidewall. We carry and source most common sizes and can bring a replacement to you overnight, mounted and torqued on site, $129-$189 installed.
