Skipping rotations is the fastest way to lose half the life of a tire set.

We do it where the vehicle is parked, with a torque wrench, not an impact gun.

Quick answer

Salazar Roadside Assistance performs mobile tire rotations across Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and Austin at your home, office or job site. We use the correct pattern for your drivetrain, torque every lug to the factory figure with a calibrated wrench, reset pressures to the door placard and give you a written tread reading on all four corners. The rate is quoted on the phone with the $19 flat dispatch fee.

The right pattern for your drivetrain

Front-wheel drive cars use a forward cross; rear-wheel drive uses a rearward cross; all-wheel drive and directional tires each have their own rule. Rotating the wrong way is close to useless and, on directional tires, actively wrong.

Staggered setups — wider rears than fronts, common on performance sedans and many Teslas — cannot be cross-rotated at all. We check the sizes before touching a lug nut and tell you if rotation is not possible on your vehicle.

Torque matters more than people think

Impact-gunned lugs are the single most common cause of warped brake rotors and seized wheels. Every wheel we refit is brought to the manufacturer's torque figure with a calibrated wrench, in a star pattern, and we tell you to recheck after 50 miles.

  • Correct rotation pattern for FWD, RWD, AWD or directional tires
  • Tread depth measured and reported on all four tires
  • Pressures set to the door-jamb placard, not the sidewall maximum
  • Lugs torqued to factory spec with a calibrated wrench
  • Uneven wear flagged with the likely alignment or suspension cause

What the wear pattern tells us

Feathering across the tread points at toe misalignment. Wear on one shoulder only is camber. Center wear is chronic overinflation and both shoulders worn is the opposite. We photograph and report what we see so you can get the underlying cause fixed before the next set of tires is ruined.

How the call works

  1. 1Book a time and give us the vehicle and where it will be parked.
  2. 2The technician arrives with jack, stands and a calibrated torque wrench.
  3. 3Wheels are rotated in the correct pattern for the drivetrain.
  4. 4Pressures are reset, tread is measured and you get the wear report.

Straight answer

Do you service my vehicle?

Yes for cars, SUVs, light trucks, EVs, commercial vans and diesel pickups. No for motorcycles and semis — we say so up front instead of sending a truck that cannot help.

Yes, we service these

  • Electric vehicles. Teslas, hybrids and EVs — 12-volt battery service, tire work and lockouts, handled with the correct jack points and no tow needed for most calls.
  • Commercial vans and fleet trucks. Cargo vans, box trucks and work fleets. Give dispatch the fleet or unit number and we bill the job the same flat way.
  • Diesel and heavy-duty pickups. Commercial-grade jump packs and heavy-duty tire tooling ride on the truck, so a three-quarter-ton diesel is a first-trip job.
  • Cars, SUVs and light trucks. The everyday roadside call — tires, batteries, jump starts, fuel and lockouts, at whatever lot or shoulder you are sitting in.

No, we do not take these

  • Motorcycles. We do not take motorcycle roadside calls. Tell the dispatcher and we will point you to a motorcycle-equipped operator instead of sending a truck that cannot help.
  • Semi tractors and heavy equipment. Class 8 trucks, trailers and construction equipment need heavy-duty recovery, which is a different trade and a different truck.

While you wait

What to do while you wait

Read this before you get out of the car. It is the same guidance our dispatchers give on the phone.

  1. 1Get off the travel lane if the vehicle still movesAim for the right shoulder, an exit ramp or the nearest lot. A car sitting in a live lane on I-35W or LBJ is the single most dangerous place to wait.
  2. 2Hazards on, wheels turned away from trafficTurn on your hazard lights before you do anything else, and point the front wheels away from the road so a struck vehicle does not roll into traffic.
  3. 3Get out on the passenger side and stand behind the barrierIf you leave the vehicle, exit away from traffic and wait behind the guardrail or well up the embankment — never between your car and oncoming traffic, and never in front of the vehicle.
  4. 4Stay buckled inside if there is no safe place to standOn a narrow shoulder or a bridge deck, staying belted inside with hazards on is safer than standing outside. Tell the dispatcher so the technician knows where you are.
  5. 5Make yourself visible at nightDome light on, phone flashlight facing traffic, reflective triangle or flare well behind the vehicle if you carry one. Most of our overnight calls happen in poor lighting.
  6. 6Call 911 first for injuries, fire, a blocked lane or a child or pet locked insideEmergency services outrank roadside service in those situations. Call 911, then call us for the vehicle itself.

Answers

Mobile Tire Rotation questions, answered

How often should tires be rotated?

Every 5,000 to 7,500 miles for most vehicles, or with each oil change. DFW heat and long freeway commutes push wear faster than the average, so the shorter interval is usually the right one here.

Can Tesla and other EV tires be rotated?

Yes, if the sizes are the same front and rear. Staggered setups cannot be cross-rotated. EV weight wears tires faster, so a consistent rotation schedule matters more, not less.

Do you rotate the spare in?

Only on vehicles with a full-size matching spare and only when you ask. Compact and temporary spares are never rotated into service.

Can you do this at my office during the workday?

That is most of this work. Give us the lot and the space number and it is done before you come back out.
